Successful landscape installation is about much more than putting a plant in the ground and providing adequate water. The first 24 months after installation are often the most critical period in the life of an ornamental plant. During this transition, roots must rapidly re-establish, interact with the surrounding soil, acquire nutrients and water, and adapt to stresses that were not present in the nursery environment. Biochar, a key ingredient, should not be viewed as a replacement for fertilizer. Instead, it functions as part of the physical and biological infrastructure of the root zone. Integrating a biological root-zone product at planting provides an opportunity to address the establishment environment before plant problems develop. That means the specification can move beyond: “Install the plant and irrigate.” Toward: “Install the plant into a root-zone environment designed to support biological activity, nutrient cycling, root development and long-term establishment and plant health.”
ULTIMATE ORNAMENTAL Installation G™ is designed specifically to support this critical establishment period by combining fertilizer, carbon-based soil amendment technology, beneficial microbial populations, mycorrhizal fungi, humic substances, seaweed extract, and a biological root-zone habitat in one installation product. It is a medium grade, 100% homogeneous particle. Every particle contains 100% of the ingredient composition. The agronomic objective is straightforward: Create a more biologically active, nutrient-supportive and structurally favorable root-zone environment so newly installed plants have a stronger foundation for establishment, growth and long-term performance.
